Returning Fireworks

Effective August 1, 2026, it will be prohibited to set off fireworks. 

As a consumer, you are only allowed to possess Category F1 fireworks, such as firecrackers, string fizzlers, and sparklers. If you still have other types of fireworks at home, you can turn them in this fall for free and without a fine during the designated drop-off days.

Anyone who still has fireworks can turn them in safely, free of charge, and anonymously between September 1 and October 9, 2026. You risk a fine or penalty if you do not turn in your prohibited fireworks.
